RULES & REGULATIONS

GENERAL

Ruggedian, is an Solo obstacle race and there are two categories of race viz.
(i) Ruggedian obstacle Race;
(ii) Fun category

Ruggedian, The obstacle race will be governed by the Race Committee. This committee has complete discretion in formulating and applying all rules and penalties. These rules may be modified or altered at the discretion of the Race Committee at any time.

The official language of the race is English, and all participants are responsible for reading and understanding these rules, race signs and directions, and any instructions given before and during the Race.

The Race Committee reserves the right to impose time penalties or to disqualify for conduct in violation of these rules or contrary to the best interests of the Race.

The decisions of the Race Committee are final and cannot be appealed.

You are to participate only in the race category for which you had applied and for which your entry has been confirmed. Only one submission per Participant is permitted. Multiple submissions will result in disqualification of the Participant for the Race.

Your entry and running number bib is not transferable to any other person under any circumstance.

Participant found to have interchanged their running number bib and/or timing bib tag with another individual, will be disqualified from the event.

Please note if you don’t wear your timing bib tag as instructed, you won’t be able to get an official finish time and thereby the official timing certificate recording your finish times. No bib tag timing, no prize

Organizers reserve the right to stop any participant from participating who is found medically unfit to continue in the opinion of the medical personnel.

Participants who are minor will be allowed to participate only if they obtain prior permission in the format as prescribed by the Race Committee. All participants (minors shall get the NOC signed by their legal guardian) are supposed to sign the NOC as prescribed by the Race Committee prior to participating in the Race. Failure to submit the NOC will result in automatic disqualification from the race.

Participants are requested to cooperate with the police and security personnel deputed at the event venue and on route.

Failure of participant to immediately and respectfully comply with a direction or decision of a Race official will result in disqualification.

Participant need to cross every obstacle. Failure to cross an obstacle will lead to disqualification. Marshals will confiscate your time chip at the obstacle point.

Athlete can help fellow athletes, if demanded .

For all the categories, the application should be accompanied with a photocopy of a valid Identity Card showing your age.

No refund of entry fee will be made.

Once a participant is disqualified, they will no longer be considered as a part of the race.

All participants should have a general insurance covering temporary as well as permanent disability and/or life.

Use of any special equipment or race tactic, the legality of which is unclear under these rules, must be disclosed in full to the Race Director prior to the Race and which needs to be approved. In the event that the equipment or tactic is approved, the Race Director will keep the inquiry confidential. In the event that a participant fails to pre-disclose and receive approval, this fact will weigh against the participant in the determination of any protests filed on account of use of such equipment or tactic.

Athletes must stay on the course trail at all times. No shortcuts are allowed.

Routes and obstacles are designed to avoid jamming but in case that happens then the first to arrive will be the first to pass.

Photographs taken during the briefing and on race day can be used for the purpose of promoting the event and email data and contact number of participants can be used for promotional purpose.

All right, title and interest, including but not limited to the Intellectual Property Rights, in the promotional material(s) / the race and in any and all entries received shall vest solely and exclusively with RACE COMMITTEE / ORGANISERS at all times. RACE COMMITTEE / ORGANISERS or any person or entity permitted by RACE COMMITTEE / ORGANISERS in this regard shall be entitled to use the entries received or any information in connection with the entry in any media for future promotional, marketing, publicity and any other purpose, without any permission and/or payment to the Participant.

Under no circumstance, shall RACE COMMITTEE / ORGANISERS and/or their directors, employees, officers, affiliates or subsidiaries, be liable to the Participant and/or any third party for any lost profits or lost opportunity, indirect, special, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages whatsoever, even if RACE COMMITTEE / ORGANISERS has been advised of the possibility of such damages. The Participant specifically agrees not to file in person/through any family member and/or any third party any applications, criminal and/or civil proceedings in any courts or forum in India against RACE COMMITTEE / ORGANISERS and/or their directors, employees, officers, affiliates or subsidiaries to claim any damages or relief in connection with the Race and shall hold harmless RACE COMMITTEE / ORGANISERS , its affiliates, its group companies, their employees, officers, directors or any other person and/or sponsors from any claim/liability/losses (including legal fees) arising out of and in relation to any injury/damage/harm/loss/ death/ mental or emotional trauma suffered by the participant(s) in any manner whatsoever in connection with the Race.

RACE COMMITTEE / ORGANISERS shall not be liable to perform any of its obligations under the Race where it is unable to do so as a result of unforeseen circumstances or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

RACE COMMITTEE / ORGANISERS excludes all liability whatever for any costs, expenses, damages, liability, injury or disappointment suffered by you arising out of or in any way connected with the Race.

RACE COMMITTEE / ORGANISERS is empowered to take a decision on any case not covered under these Rules and Regulations.

DISQUALIFICATION

Any action by a participant that degrades, deteriorates or damages the environment through which the race will run will lead to disqualification. If an participant is spotted littering or throwing garbage along the way of the race, altering or tampering with any of the natural surroundings for any reason what so ever will lead to instant disqualification .

No outside support is allowed between the start and finish lines of the Race. Only the participant is allowed in any official race area.

Any person found wearing the incorrect bib or no bib will be disqualified and removed by the course security.

The Race Committee has the right to disqualify participant on grounds of indiscipline or indecent behavior or any such action that is detrimental to the conduct of the race.

Consumption or possession of alcohol, tobacco, cigarettes or any banned substances will lead to instant disqualification of the participant as the case may be.

Argument with race officials, race marshals or fellow athletes will lead to disqualification.

Participant must make reasonable assumptions and decisions with regard to the direction of the course. Any participant who removes or changes the location and/or direction of course markings will be disqualified.

Participant trying to destruct or tamper race obstacles will be disqualified.

Participant will be provided with Race vest/ponchos and have to wear that during race.

BAG STORAGE

A bag storage area is available at the event for you to leave your belongings. Event organizers, while taking precautions for security, are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

You can place your bag from 6.30 AM to 10.30 AM and you can collect your bag till 11.30 Am. After that, there would be no supervision on your bags and it is highly recommended to not carry any valuable belongings.

Organizers are not responsible for anything lost, stolen or damage during transportation or during race course.

RACE RESULTS

Once the race is over, provisional results will be declared. The period of 30 minutes after the provisional results are declared, will be considered as ‘Protest time’. Any team/participant, who wishes to protest, will have to submit the protest in writing to the Race director along with a protest fee of Rs. 5000/-. The Race director will then look into the matter and give the final decision.

The decision of the Race director will be final and binding on the participants.

No protest will be entertained after the expiry of the protest time. In case there are no protests in the ‘protest time’, the provisional results would be treated as the final results.

Once the final results are declared – no protests, arguments or any such action will be entertained. Any misbehavior in the protest time will lead to instant disqualification.

The Race Director can alter, amend or change the course of the race as well as the rules and regulations without any prior notice.

All decisions by the Race Director regarding the results and the prizes will be final and binding on all the race participants.

Any Disputes regarding the race and/or prizes would be subject to Kolhapur Jurisdiction only and shall be construed with and governed in accordance with the laws of India.

All the participants must be of minimum 16 years of age (Except the school race category.)

Prizes include Individual Trophy, Certificate (Ranking and Participation/completion) and Cash prizes.

The prize cannot be exchanged /redeemed for cash or any other non-monetary consideration and the prize is not transferable.

Cash prize money will be given to winners in 15 days after the race.

PRIZES WILL DEPEND UPON THE NUMBER OF ENTRIES IN THAT CATEGORY.

For all the 3 prizes to be available for claim, the minimum number of participating athletes entries in that category should be 25.

If the number of entries in a category is between 15 and 24, only the first and second prizes will be awarded.

If the number of entries in any category is 10 and 15, only the first prize would be awarded.

If the number of entries in one particular category is less than 10 , then such a category will be merged with another category of the same level.

Winners need to show their age proof before the prize distribution function .

NOTE : All decisions by the Race Director regarding the results and the prizes will be final and binding on all the race participants.
